THE INSPIRATION

We wanted carrot to shine.

Carrot is familiar.

Perhaps too familiar.

But beneath that everyday familiarity is an ingredient with beautiful natural colour, gentle sweetness and enormous character.

At Vecolate, that is usually where curiosity begins.

We wanted to take carrot away from the dinner plate and give it an entirely different expression.

Lemon brought the brightness we were looking for.

Ginger brought warmth and a little intrigue.

And when the finished piece emerged from its diamond-shaped mould — golden, faceted and luminous — the name felt inevitable.
